Banquet Kitchen Assistant - part-time
We are seeking a part-time Banquet Kitchen Assistant to support our banquet and event operations. This entry‑level role is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain hands‑on kitchen experience while working in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment. The Banquet Kitchen Assistant works closely with the Executive Chef to prepare meals for group events and helps maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen. Schedules vary based on event needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. A complete job description is included below.
Job Summary:
The Banquet Kitchen Assistant position is responsible for washing dishes and cookware and cleaning the work areas. This position also assists the Executive Chef in preparing meals for group events. This is a service oriented position and requires good interpersonal communication skills and friendly professionalism while attending to guest requests.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation for work areas to comply with Health Department regulations and hotel standards.
- Wash dishes and cookware and return to storage areas.
- Assist in the preparation of meals for group events
- Prep items as directed
- Follow departmental policies and procedures.
- Follow all safety and sanitation policies and procedures
- Sanitize all cleaning tools including mops, brooms, etc, at end of shift
- Maintain a friendly and professional attitude when interacting with guests and fellow staff members
- Assist other departments when needed to ensure optimum service to guests.
- Performs other duties as assigned. The company reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of proper cleaning and sanitation procedures

- Willingness to work long hours, irregular shifts, and on weekends and holidays.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Food service experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Able to stand for prolonged periods
- Able to stand and walk for prolonged periods
- Able to climb ladders
- Able to climb stairs
- Able to walk hallways and perimeter of property
- Able to twist, bend, reach and pull
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds
